Yarning Aboriginal Mothers Program

Yarning Aboriginal Mothers Program is a free weekly gathering for mums and carers of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. From pregnancy and those first five precious years, we walk alongside mums and carers – coming together each week to strengthen Culture, improve outcomes and community connections. The program is designed and shaped by the families to make sure the activities and sessions are valuable to them.

We run groups at Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 to 2pm.
In each group we provide a healthy hot lunch, weekly take home grocery packs (monthly recipe and ingredients packs).

A space where little ones can learn and grow in a safe space through art, play and connecting to Culture. Enjoy a variety of free Cultural activities including weaving, Aboriginal art, trips on Country and group outings. The space is an excellent opportunity for mums to come together and socialise with other mums.

We offer one on one support from our social workers and free access to allied health services including speech therapy, art therapy, occupational therapy, nutritionist, where needed.

Requirements: You or bub must identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, we can support you throughout pregnancy, and until the little one is five years of age.
This playgroup is not run by Playgroup NSW. Playgroup NSW Members and other families attending this playgroup are covered by the insurance arrangements provided by the organisation hosting these playgroup sessions. It is the requirement of the Playgroup Collective member to keep their playgroup details updated. Please reach out to the organisation hosting the session prior to attending to confirm the session is running.
