Playgroup NSW Marks a Record Year of Growth and Impact: Annual Report 2023-24 

We are thrilled to launch our Playgroup NSW 2023-2024 Annual Report—a showcase of the incredible milestones and achievements we’ve reached together this year, being a record year for Playgroup NSW not just in terms of highest funding on record but more importantly, in terms of increasing our far-reaching impact. 

Playgroup NSW delivers more than just Playgroups. We provide evidence based, localised early childhood development, peer-to peer-support, capacity building, community development, sector capability and research to drive thought and practice leadership. 

For over 50 years, Playgroup NSW has been dedicated to supporting families with young children by fostering connection, learning, and play.  

This year, we are proud to grow our meaningful impact through place-based, innovative programs and services that strengthen communities, support parenting, and provide vital resources for families across New South Wales. 

Key Highlights from 2023-2024 

• 550 playgroups a week 

• 26,000 playgroups a year  

• 546 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children in culturally appropriate Playgroups 

•  5235 Parents attending Parent Support sessions 

• Members in 99% of NSW postcodes, reflecting the incredible reach and diversity of our community. 

• 30% growth in income over the past year, enhancing our impact 

Behind these numbers are our 65,000 members who have experienced the transformative power of Playgroup. From new parents building their villages to children thriving through play, these stories showcase the heart of our mission. 

More importantly, our team of over 80 dedicated staff and over 500 volunteers make the magic happen, so too, our valued service delivery partners who bring their expertise, alongside our government, philanthropic and sector funders and corporate partners who invest in our evidence-based models for optimal impact.
