What’s it all about:
We love Playgroups (obviously!) and we know that children and families benefit when they have access to Playgroup.
Playgroup Census week will provide us with an opportunity to demonstrate to government how valuable Playgroup is for Australian families and local communities.
From the 2nd-8th of September, we will be collecting attendance data for all Playgroups that happen during the week. This information will help Government understand the impact we have in communities and impact future funding and support.
The Importance of Playgroup Census
The Playgroup Census is more than just a count—it’s a celebration of how Playgroups enrich the lives of families each week. By highlighting the number of families participating, we’re showcasing the profound benefits of regular Playgroup sessions. This census helps us reveal the widespread impact of Playgroups, from the support and connections families gain, to the insights, learning, fun, and meaningful relationships that foster the wellbeing of both families and the broader community.
Through the Playgroup Census, we’re not just documenting attendance; we’re paving the way for the future. This initiative positions Playgroup as a key component in the early years education journey, complementing preschool and preparing children for school. It underscores the collective experience and benefits that Playgroups offer to parents and carers, as we join forces to nurture and support the next generation for bright, healthy, and happy lives.
Join us in this important endeavor and help us paint a vivid picture of the invaluable role Playgroups play in our community. Together, we can ensure that Playgroups continue to thrive and make a lasting impact on families everywhere!
