Summary: Your baby will be fascinated with the “Rainmaker” activity. It will also help develop their cognitive and fine motor skills.

Materials

  • Kitchen colander
  • Jug
  • Large container

A 2-litre plastic soft drink bottle or a milk carton with holes punched in are great homemade colanders.

  • Encourage your baby to reach out and touch the water.
  • Show them how to cut off the flow by pressing with their hands.
  • Introduce some colour to this activity by adding some food colouring to the water.
  • Use other tools, such as funnels, to allow your baby to experience different flows of water.
