End of year message

With 2016 drawing to a close, I’d like to thank you for sharing the joy of playing, learning and connecting throughout the year. We hope you’ve enjoyed being part of the largest movement of parents in the state and joining in with your playgroup this year and I look forward to welcoming you back in 2017.

We have a wonderful community of support here at Playgroup NSW, including:

  • Our volunteer Playgroup Coordinators, Treasurers, Secretaries and other playgroup volunteers who keep the playgroup movement thriving and make our community playgroups fun and accessible

  • Our staff who do so much to bring the joy of play and social networks to families all over NSW

  • Our service delivery partners and our generous corporate partners and sponsors

  • Our Board of Management who volunteer their professional and personal time and commitment.

Christmas/New Year head office closure

How to survive the Christmas silly season with your children

For children, Christmas can be overwhelming, tiring and fun - all at the same time. There is an entire ritual that occurs on Christmas that children are not yet familiar with.

Holidays can be intense for children, as everything is new to them: the Christmas tree, gifts, Santa Claus, guests… It is easy to see how emotions and moods can escalate quickly. So here are a few ideas to get you and your child in ship-shape for the holiday season.

With the long summer holidays coming up, no doubt at some point your children will be showing signs of boredom. One of the best ways to entertain a bored child is to take them outside. The outdoors offer endless possibilities for having fun. It’s also a healthy alternative to playing in the house.

Here are seven outdoor activities you can do with your children, without having to leave your neighbourhood.

World’s Biggest Playgroup Day will be held on 29 March at Tumbalong Park, Darling Harbour. We’re out to set the benchmark with an exceptional line up of performers and FREE activities to entertain babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers.
