Playgroup Tools

At Playgroup NSW we are continuously reinventing the world of play for babies, toddlers and young children. We do so by developing reliable tools and resources that support our volunteer playgroup committee members to start and run playgroups in their community. Scroll down to discover the tools you can benefit from when you start a playgroup in your area.

  • Playgroup NSW

To help assist with the maintenance and proper use of baby equipment at your playgroup.
  • Playgroup NSW

Playgroup NSW provides affiliated Playgroups with extensive resources to help you promote your Playgroup and boost your membership. This flyer explains some of these resources available.
  • Playgroup NSW

Welcoming new potential members into your group is important. So is the follow up. We have a template for a follow up email and sms your group can use to encourage people to transition from visitor to member. Remember this doesn’t have to be the job of the committee, anyone in the group can be the welcome guru. Simply copy and paste the information (and save for future use) change the areas that are highlighted to your information and send out to visiting families.
  • Finsura Insurance

This questionnaire is required for playgroup events that anticipate over 1,000 attendees and must be sent minimum two weeks prior to event date
  • Playgroup NSW

It is important playgroups are aware of Playgroup NSW’s risk management framework to ensure, as much as possible the risks posed by hazards in a playgroup setting both inside and outside. This Risk Assessment Form will help you assess your playgroups risk annually by checking that the following hazards have been eliminated.

Why start a playgroup?

  • You would like to transition a mother’s group or new parent’s group to a playgroup

If your local mother’s or new parent’s group is interested in continuing to meet as your children get older, forming a playgroup is a great option.

Often parents will find it difficult to continue to meet at cafes or in similar environments once children are older and more active. Playgroup provides a dedicated space for children to play, allowing parents to continue to connect.

  • There is no local playgroup

If you don’t have a playgroup close to home, why not consider starting one? Not only is this more convenient for local parents, it also helps bring communities together.

  • You would like to focus on a language, culture or particular interest

Playgroup NSW provides a range of special interest playgroups including culturally specific playgroups, grandparent’s playgroups, LGBTI playgroups and disability-focused playgroups. If you’re looking for a playgroup with a special interest or focus, we can help you start one.
